Dr. Roizman is a Joseph Regenstein Distinguished Service Professor at the Departments of Molecular Genetics-Cell Biology and Biochemistry-Molecular Biology and Director of Viral Oncogenesis Laboratories at the University of Chicago. Dr. Roizman is a pioneer in research on the human herpes simplex virus. Due to his scientific contribution to this research area, he was selected as a member of the American Academy of Science. Dr. Roizman also has close contact with the Chinese research community. He was recently selected by the Chinese Academy of Engineering as a foreign member.
